Perseid Meteor Shower
We are back into the months that start meteor
showers, with August 11th through 13th expected to be the
peak days for the Perseid showers. The Perseid meteor shower is a result of
debris from the Swift-Tuttle Comet. It is estimated they will have 75 shooting
stars per hour this year. Look in the predawn northeast sky on these dates, but
remember that the peak may occur one or two days on either side of the
projected dates. The moon is waning on these dates and will not obscure the
brightness of the northeast sky.
